# AccessLens 5H — dropdown state diagnostics

Improves the custom dropdown workflow for country and telephone dial code:
- Finds semantic option elements rather than arbitrary `li` text on the page.
- Clicks the actual option using Playwright; waits for the form to process the selection.
- Reads the trigger's own selected text instead of reading its parent (which can contain all option text and produce a false success).
- Blurs the dropdown and checks persistence again after a delay.
- Adds bounded diagnostic messages (no candidate name, email, or phone number in the new messages).
- Does not submit applications.

Run `python3 -m unittest discover -p 'test_*.py' -v` and `python3 server.py`.
Open `http://127.0.0.1:8780/queue.html?v=5h`.

**Limitations:** Local unit tests pass, but the actual Applied Materials custom dropdown was not exercised in this environment. If the site renders a non-ARIA virtualized menu, diagnostic messages will help identify that exact limitation. Do not mark an application submitted unless you have the employer's confirmation.
